Russian pres spox: No single position on OPEC deal prolongation

MOSCOW, Mar 14 (PRIME) -- Oil producing countries, in and outside OPEC, have not formed a united position on prolongation of the production cut agreement, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

“No single position has been formed so far… You know, there are nuances in the approaches of various oil producing states,” Peskov said.

“Indeed, shale oil producers, who use the parameters of high oil prices, are exerting pressure on the oil market. This is why there are different opinions. It is too early perhaps to speak about the possibility of formulating a united position.”

Peskov declined to say whether the issue can be discussed during a forthcoming summit between President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Hasan Rouhani in late March.
